I) Story of the Soul- August 2021

The combination of the profound personal engagement in storytelling, and the equally profound exploration of image and character uncovered through psychodrama makes this 4 session workshop unique and significant.

Laura Simms – Storyteller, Writer & Humanitarian

She is an award winning performer, writer, and educator advocating storytelling as compassionate action for personal and community transformation. She performs worldwide combining ancient myth and true life story for adult and family audiences.  She is the Artistic Director of the Hans Christian Andersen Storytelling Center in NY and the founder of The Center for Engaged Storytelling (new).

Magdalene Jeyarathnam– Certified Psychodramatist

She was certified by the Australia Aotearoa (New Zealand) board of psychodrama through the Psychodrama Institute of Melbourne by Sue Daniel(Australia). She is a board member of the International association of Group Psychotherapy and Group process.


II) Journey through Psychodrama – November 2021

What is Psychodrama?

Psychodrama is essentially a group-action method. Psychodrama could be used for therapeutic purposes, and could also be used in the corporate context for team building, conflict management, stress management, identifying and working with stress, improving communication, building trust, identifying issues etc. This method is spontaneous and creative when used by a well-trained and certified psychodramatist, who is usually called the Psychodrama director.

Dates: 5 to 7, 12 to 14 (Fri – Sun) November 2021

Timing: 9.30 am – 4.30 pm IST

Magdalene Jeyarathnam– Certified Psychodramatist and Psychodrama Trainer

 She is the Founder and Director of Indian Institute of Psychodrama, Chennai, India. She is also a psychodrama trainer she was trained through Dr Herb Propper as her primary teacher. She is a faculty for an M.Sc. program at Martin Luther Christian College (MLCU), Shillong as well as she teachers psychodrama classes for a course with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).

III) Goodbye to the Old & Hello to the New- December 2021

Indian Institute of Psychodrama presents a 2 day personal session using Psychodrama to say Goodbye to the Old and hello to the New.

December 30th & 31st

Magdalene Jeyarathnam– Counselor, Psychodramatist & Expressive Arts Therapist

She is an expressive arts therapist and a board certified Psychodramatist working with individuals, couples and groups including family groups in India. Magdalene has more than 27 years of experience in working with addiction, HIV/AIDS and mental health issues, she has worked with several state and central government agencies in India, She has also worked with UNICEF and WHO as consultant on projects. She is a co-founder of Expressive Arts therapy Association of India
