“I AM AN ALLY” campaign- 31st August 2019

 

 

“I AM AN ALLY” campaign conducted by East West Center for Counselling and training in collaboration with Nirangal for Chennai Counsellor’s Foundation on the 31st of August 2019. Many mental health professionals and guests from the LGBTQ community participated and shared their personal experiences and opinions. There was a screening of a documentary film “Ladies and Gentlewomen ” directed by Malini Jeevarathnam (also a community member) which created a very different view and opinion on the community . Discussions on how and why the role of Mental health professionals are important were clarified and further widening of perspectives on the needs of the community individuals were put forth.

On the whole, the session was very interactive, interesting and an informative one.
