PSYCHODRAMA for ACTORS

A WORKSHOP in which you will increase your spontaneity and ability to improvise, expand and deepen your creative process, strengthen your capacity for ensemble work, explore scripted roles you would love to play and discover in yourself unscripted roles you would love to play.

Psychodrama is the source of all modern role-playing methods. it gives persons the opportunity to
explore a wide range of aspects and parts of themselves in a group setting.
it uses a wide range of methods to help persons get in touch with their imagination as individuals and
collectively. it also promotes greater harmony and reduces conflict among people within a group. it
works with the very essence of the creative process to help artists in all media to discover new
approaches to their work.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Herb Propper, Ph.D., T.E.P. is a Certified Trainer Educator Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy with 40 years of experience in the field. He is a member of the American Board of Examiners, and a fellow of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP).

Since 2003 he has been presenting trainings in Bangladesh, where he is currently trainer for the Dhaka University Departments of Clinical Psychology and Educational and Counseling Psychology, the Psychology Department of Rajshahi University, and the Dramatics Department of Jahangirnagar University.

Since 2009 he has offered training workshops in India, where he is currently the Resident Trainer for the Indian Institute of Psychodrama in Chennai. He has presented trainings and workshops in Mumbai, Delhi,Bangalore and Baroda, and in Chennai at Womens Christian College, Stella Maris College and Madras School ofSocial Work.He is a 2009 Fulbright Scholar to Bangladesh, and currently a member of the Fulbright Specialist Roster in Social Work.He has been a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism (Mahayana, Vajrayana) since 2001, and is also ordained
as a Tibetan Buddhist monk.
Theater:
Herb is also Professor Emeritus of Theater. He has taught courses in acting, directing, play wrighting, theater history and dramatic literature at Grahm College and Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, The University of Vermont and Johnson (Vermont) State College, along with workshops and courses at the Amsterdam National School of Dramatic Arts in the Netherlands, and the Higher Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal.He has acted and directed professionally in the USA with the San Francisco Actors Workshop, Charles River Repertory of Boston and Lost Nation Theater of Burlington, Vermont.
